CREW: Jenkins Earns Second Team All-America
Honors
Pacific Lutheran junior Kat Jenkins has earned Collegiate Rowing
Coaches Association second team All-America honors in rowing. Jenkins,
from Rochester, Minn., competed on Pacific Lutheran’s Varsity
8, Varsity 4 and pairs boats.
Jenkins and teammate Amber Iverson, an All-American in 2007,
placed third in the pairs competition at the Western Intercollegiate
Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships held May 3-4 on Lake Natoma
in Rancho Cordova, Calif.
In addition to receiving All-America recognition for her athletic
endeavors, Jenkins also earned All-America Scholar-Athlete honors.
Jenkins maintains a 3.87 grade point average while majoring in physics.
She was joined on that list by PLU freshman Caroline Olsen (4.00,
nursing) and Mary Wuest (3.92, nursing).
