About "Basic Scanning"How this workshop came to be... |
| How this workshop came to be... | In January 1997, Media Services completed a Survey on the Use of Instructional Technology in the Classroom. Results indicated a strong need for faculty training and services to support faculty use of instructional technology in the classroom. Eight of 50 individuals surveyed (20%) indicated a need for web production services and seven of 50 (17.1%) needed training in imaging software. Information Resources staff, including Layne Nordgren, Margaret Worley, Gail Egbers, and Susan McDonald collaborated to address these needs. A survey of faculty computer training needs was conducted in the spring of 1997 to identify the most commonly needed training. Three of the most commonly requested topics, web page production, FTP, and PowerPoint were offered in May 1997. Three workshops will be offered during the fall, 1997. This workshop was developed as a collaborative effort between Layne Nordgren and Gene Gatlin. Margaret Worley provided support with organizing and scheduling this and other faculty training workshops. |
